SEARLES - The Searles Bullheads 35 and over baseball team extended their winning streak to five games with a convincing 17-2 win over the Jordan Alers on Saturday. The Bullheads scored early and often, getting six runs in the first, three in the second, one in the fifth, and capped off with seven in the seventh.
Leading the hit attack for the Bullheads with two hits each were Troy Kamm, who reached base all six times and scored three runs, Craig Schmitz, Doug Ekstrom, and Scott Rummel. Searles had 13 hits, coupled with eight walks and two hit batsmen.
Meanwhile, Searles used three pitchers in holding Jordan to six hits and giving up single runs to the Alers in the fourth and seventh.
Brant Drill got the win by pitching the first three innings. Kevin Hulke pitched the next three innings and Rummel pitched the seventh. The Searles pitchers issued four walks and struck out six Jordan batters.
The Bullheads (6-5) hope to extend their winning streak this upcoming weekend with two games scheduled. They play the Jordan Millers at Jordan at 7 p.m. Saturday and then host the Minneapolis Bombers at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Searles ballpark.
