SEARLES - Seven proved to be the lucky number this past weekend for the Searles Bullheads 35 and over baseball team. On Saturday they defeated the Jordan Millers by a score of 7-1, thus winning their seventh game in a row.
Scott Rummel picked up the complete game victory for the Bullheads, giving up one run on eight hits. Rummel struck out three Jordan batters, walked one, and hit one Miller batter. This was Rummel's second win of the season.
Meanwhile the Bullhead bats were swinging freely. They delivered 12 hits to push across the seven runs, scoring two in each of the first, third and fifth innings and one more in the sixth. Craig Schmitz was 3-for-4 in the game. Getting two hits each were Corey Schaefer, Rummel, and Matt Kuster.
The Bullheads (8-5) are back in action on Saturday when they travel to LeSueur for a 3 p.m. game. Last Sunday's game with the Shoreview Minneapolis Bombers was postponed to a later day because Shoreview did not have enough players to play.
