NEW ULM - The 4-H Beef Show enjoyed a solid turnout Thursday afternoon at the Brown County Free Fair.
Amanda Jensen, 20, of Springfield, took home three first-place ribbons . She said that because this is her final year with the competition, it was an amazing way to end her run with 4-H.
She has been participating in 4-H since she was seven years old and has competed in the 4-H Beef Show for most of those years. This year was first time she has won three ribbons in one event - all of which were top honors.

Amanda Jensen, of Springfield, won three first-place ribbons at the 4-H Beef Show on Thursday at the Brown County Fair Grounds. She said it was exciting way to complete her final year of competition in the show.
She won in the categories of Champion Breeder Heifer, Champion Market Beef and Champion Senior Showman.
Jensen plans to attend South Dakota State University, where she will pursue a degree in animal science. She said her time in 4-H has been meaningful.
She will miss the fun of raising her animals to competition level and the strong friendships she forged with fellow 4-H participants.
Another multi-ribbon winner at the event was Noah Richert, who won Reserve Champion Breeder Heifer, Reserve Champion Market Beef and Champion Jr. Showperson.
