Registered predatory offender back in jail

NEW ULM - A 50-year-old man released from the Brown County Jail a couple weeks ago was arrested and returned to jail Sunday for failure to register as a sex offender.

Vernon J. Quiram, aka Vernon Quiran, Vernon Quiram, Vernon John Quiran, Vern John Quiram, Vernon Lee Quiram, 50, address unknown, was charged with felony predatory offender-knowlingly violates registration requirement Monday in Brown County District Court.

On Sunday, New Ulm Police on routine patrol on the 100 block of South Minnesota Street noticed a person riding a bicycle northbound on Minnesota Street towards him that he recognized as Quiram, and saw him parked his bike outside the B&L Laundromat on Center Street, according to the complaint.

A criminal history review showed Quiram was convicted of 5th degree criminal sexual conduct on Nov. 18, 2008 and was subject to predatory offender registration, according to the complaint.
