Suzanne Gollnast

NEW ULM - Suzanne Gollnast, 87, of New Ulm, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the United Church of Christ in New Ulm with Pastor Hank Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. To sign the guest book or to leave an online condolence for her family go to www.mvfh.org.

Sue is survived by her son, Jim Gollnast of St. Paul; sister, Harriette Sandeen of Mankato; sisters-in-law, Lavonne Galbraith of Green Bay, Wis., Ginny Rowe of New Jersey; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Donald in 2004.

Suzanne Seiter Heymann was born March 5, 1926 in New Ulm to Armin and Aleen (Seiter) Heymann. She graduated from New Ulm High School with the class of 1944 and then attended nursing school at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis. On Oct. 16, 1948, Sue was united in marriage to Donald Gollnast in New Ulm. She worked as a nurse at Union Hospital for many years and then as the school nurse for DMLC for 11 years. Sue enjoyed volunteering around New Ulm, flower gardening, needle work, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and Turner Hall in New Ulm.

Memorials are preferred to the Brown County Humane Society, the United Church of Christ, or the American Cancer Society.
