PREP VOLLEYBALL: Mustangs sweep Cougars in Tomahawk

BLHS 3, CM/C 0

HECTOR - Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart swept Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 25-20, 25-13, 25-20 Thursday in a Tomahawk Conference match.

Brianna Lund had three blocks and nine kills. Andrea Ochs had 16 digs and was 6-for10 serving with two aces. Natalie Hoffbeck led CM/C with 18 set assists and was eight for eleven serving. Courtney Nelson also had nine kills.

Hannah VanderVoort had nine kills to lead the Mustangs and Maddie Ludowese had seven kills. Mara Olinger had 10 digs and Ashley Tintes had 15 set assists.

CM/C (0-8) goes to Redwood Valley next Monday.

BLHS (4-3) hosts Central Minnesota Christian next Monday.

Springfield 3, MVL 1

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 25-15, 25-18, 13-25 and 25-22 Thursday night in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match.

Laura Schoenherr had 27 set assists for the Chargers. Bekka Olsen had eight kills and 11 digs. Mariah Stein had eight digs and four ace serves. Rylee Weisensel and Johanna Kettner each added seven kills.

MVL (2-6-01, 0-2) travels to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on Saturday to play in the WEM Tournament.

For Springfield, Heidi Veenstra had 10 kills and two blocks. Sonja Fiedler had eight kills and three aces. Amanda Rogotzke had 19 digs and Taylor Milbrath had seven kills.

Springfield is at Mountain Lake Area on Monday.

Wabasso 3, GFW 2

WABASSO - Wabasso overcame a 2-0 set deficit to edge Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 17-25, 17-25, 25-16, 25-21 and 15-13 Thursday night in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match.

Larissa Rohlik led Wabasso with 25 digs, 21-for-22 serving, one ace and 25 set assists. Morgan Frank was 11-for-12 serving with one ace, 14 kills, and three blocks. Callie Rohlik was 11-for-11 serving with two aces. Chelsey Guetter added 26 digs and kills. Jocely Rothmeier had 33 set assists.

Claire Leitheiser of GFW was 16-for-16 serving with two aces and 19 set assists. Catelyn Seehafer was 21-for-21 with four aces seven kills and six blocks. Halley Busse had 26 digs and Stephanie Palmer 18 digs.

Both Wabasso (3-1, 2-0) and GFW will play Saturday in the Montevideo Tournament.
