NICOLLET - Annabel Weber, 83, of Nicollet, died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 20, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet with Father Todd Petersen celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Middle Lake, Traverse Township, Nicollet County.
Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in Nicollet and will continue for one hour prior to the time of Mass at the church on Friday. Annabel is survived by her daughter, Lois Weber of Mankato; sons, Anthony Weber of Nicollet, Robert (Jean) Weber of Owatonna, Karl (Melody) Weber of Nicollet, Gary Weber of Nicollet; sister, Lucilla (Jerome) Schultz of Sleepy Eye; special cousin, Lorraine Schroepfer of Sleepy Eye; granddaughters, Lisa (Tom) Skala of Blooming Prairie, Lori (Dominic) Kasheimer of Green Isle, Angela Weber of Nicollet, Valerie Weber of Nicollet; grandsons, Christopher Weber of Nicollet, James Weber of Mankato, Jason (Laura) Sommer of Owatonna; 5 great-granddaughters; 3 great-grandsons; one great-great-grandson; and many family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Weber on May 7, 2006; son, David Weber in 2003; and brother, Leonard Saffert.
Annabel Marie Saffert was born on August 18, 1930 in New Ulm to Joseph and Anna (Liebl) Saffert. She attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Holy Trinity High School with the class of 1948. On November 15, 1951 Annabel was united in marriage to Robert Weber at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. Annabel worked in New Ulm at Firestone and was the secretary for Brown County Attorney, George D. Erickson. Annabel also farmed with her husband Robert in Granby Township, Nicollet County until retirement. Annabel enjoyed dancing with Bob, gardening, needle work, crossword puzzles, and watching game shows and the Minnesota Twins. Annabel was a wonderful caregiver and was referred to by her family as an MD, which stands for Mother Doctor. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nicollet, the Council of Catholic Women, and St. Joseph's St. Elizabeth's Catholic United of New Ulm.
