Arnie Emmanuel Anderson was the son of Swen and Rocelea (Johnson) Anderson and was born on March 26, 1939 in St. James. Arnie was baptized and later confirmed on June 6, 1954, both at East Sveadahl Lutheran Church. He attended School District #36 for eight years and later graduated from St. James High School in 1957. Throughout Arnie's life he had a passion to farm; at the age of six years old he knew he would be a farmer. He worked beside his Dad whenever he could. Arnie worked the same soil with the same machinery until he retired in 2008. God blessed him richly as he worked hard with his hands and was a good steward of the land. Arnie was a man of integrity, his trustworthiness, honesty and love for people led him in to many positions throughout his life. He enjoyed giving of his time and talent wherever needed and did it from the heart. Arnie's hobbies were his chickens, flower gardens and his best friend, "Freckles" his rat terrier. He also enjoyed the egg coffee crew many mornings over the last many years with his real egg coffee. Arnie was the best stepfather and grandfather. He treated each one as his own. He was an inspiration to us all.

Survivors include; his wife, Marilyn Anderson of rural St. James; stepchildren, Eric Miller, Jonathan (Sadie) Miller and their children, Landon and Preston of St. Louis Park, Malinda Miller and her daughter, Berlin of North Mankato; Ken (Sherri) Orr and their children, Joshua and Ariel of East Bethel, Amber and her son of Montana; Sheri Schmitz and her children, April and Zachary of Buffalo; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Anderson, Sauk Center and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Arnie is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joan Anderson; brother, Allen Anderson and an uncle, Edgar Johnson; step-daughter, Brenda; stepchild, Brandon and other relatives.
