LeRoy Goelz

LeRoy was a lifelong farmer and it truly was his passion. Even though he retired in 2006 he stayed involved in the day to day operations while his land was being custom farmed. He was a past member of the Birch Coulee Township Board. He had enjoyed gardening, collecting toy tractors, fishing on the Minnesota River and looked forward to his annual ice fishing trips to Lake Of The Woods with his friends. He also enjoyed designing and making furniture out of iron and he was known for his flawless welding workmanship. LeRoy's family fondly remembers his generous heart, his deep faith, and his love of time spent with them.

LeRoy is survived by his wife Audrey Goelz; his children: Ginny Logan, Ronnie Goelz, Vickie (and Greg) Schmidt, Carolyn (and Eugene) Goering, and Dirk Goelz; his stepchildren: Dan (and Linda) Rathman, Kim (and Dave) Wertish, Sheila (and Tim) Green, and Todd (and Susan) Rathman; his 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and his sister, Desiree Lavelle. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Alois Goelz, his brother and sister-in-law Bernard and Ruth Goelz, his son-in-law Jim Logan, his grandson James Wertish, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
