SPRINGFIELD - Alice L. Kettner, age 93, of Springfield died on Sept. 25, 2013, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Service will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield, on Monday, Oct. 7, at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Pastor Mark Luther Johnson. Interment will be at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Springfield.

Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 7, from 9:30 am to 10:30 a.m. at the church in Springfield.

Alice Lydia Kettner was born on Feb. 24, 1920, in Lamberton, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Bast) Schiller. She was united in marriage to Emil L. Kettner on March 6, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lamberton. The couple farmed north of Springfield. Following Emil's death in 1967, Alice later moved to Lamberton and then returned to Springfield. She entered St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield in the spring of 1999. Alice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield and enjoyed quilting.

Alice died on Wednesday, Sept.r 25, 2013 at the age of 93 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Ruth (Merlyn) Peterson of Springfield and Janet (David) Mude of Morton; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and sisters-in-law, Lillian Schilling of New Ulm and Gean Schiller of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1967; brothers, Arnold, Walter, and her twin brother Alvin; and sisters, Viola Johnson, Eleonora Bruns, and Evelyn Kronback.
