Redwood Valley boys finish 15th at state cross country

NORTHFIELD - Redwood Valley finished 15th at the 2013 Minnesota Boys Cross Country State Meet Saturday at St. Olaf College.

Leading the way for the Cardinals was Ryan Phillips (6th place, 16:25), followed by Alex Amunrud (65th, 18:02), Wesley Peyerl (79th, 18:17), Marshal Quast (81st, 18:25) and Josiah Passe (82nd, 18:25). Joe Bidinger (88th, 18:40) and Jordan Opdahl (105th, 19:38) also competed for the Cardinals.

Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet's John Roth was 47th in 17:16 and the Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop duo of Tyler Sassenberg (92nd, 17:41) and Brandon Albrecht (93rd, 17:41) also competed.

On the girls' side, Redwood Valley's Kayla Huhnerkoch finished 9th in 15:13 and St. James' Ashley Lahti was 77th in 16:09.
