NEW ULM - Arlin Jungkans, 86, of New Ulm died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor David Bendix officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, SOUTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Wednesday. Arlin is survived by his wife, Gloria Jungkans; daughters, Arlette (Orville) Johnson, Marlys (Brad) Ranweiler, Doreen (Lee) Bowman, Wendy (Lonny) Robbin; sons, Larry (LeAnn) Stark, Glenn Stark, Bob (Donna) Stark; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn (Alvin) Person; nephew, Curtis (Brenda) Person; and niece, Gloria (Richard) Schnorenberg. He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother-in-law, Alice Maha.

Arlin Leland Jungkans was born on Dec. 29, 1926 in rural Hanska to John and Jennie (Fesenemeier) Jungkans. On Oct. 31, 1987 he was united in marriage to Gloria Maha at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Arlin farmed the home farm with his parents in the New Ulm area. He cared for them until they were no longer able to be at home. During this time he was employed at Kraft Foods in New Ulm and worked there for 30 years until retiring. Arlin enjoyed watching grandsons play baseball, listening to old time music, dancing, playing cards, old cars, farming, fishing, traveling and motorcycling. He was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm and had been a head usher. He also was a faithful volunteer at the Treasure Haus in New Ulm.
