MANKATO - The DNR's Division of Parks and Trails is hosting an house on Tuesday, Dec. 17 to discuss the planning of the Minnesota River State Trail. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 8 pm in the Mankato Room, Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Mankato. A 30-day public review period is also starting, and comments will be accepted through Friday, Jan. 3.
The event is open to the public. It will be informal, and anyone with an interest in the future of this trail is encouraged to attend.
The meeting will include poster displays with maps of possible trail alignments and natural resources of the Minnesota River Valley. Copies of the draft master plan will be available for review at the meeting. DNR staff will be present to answer questions and take comments.
The master plan must be completed and approved before any funds can be used for trail construction.
