Attorneys Errol E. "Nip" Hauser, Donald E. "Toby" Schmid and Steven J. Franta have announced that their law firms, Hauser and Schmid PLLP and The Legal Professionals PA have combined their practices effective Jan. 1.
The combined firms will offer clients primarily estate planning, business and agricultural law, probate, real estate and family law services. They will be known as The Legal Professionals PA Hauser Schmid Franta & Associates.
The Legal Professionals PA is hosting an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 4-6 p.m. at the Sleepy Eye Community Center located on 115 2nd Ave NE, Sleepy Eye. The event is open to clients and community members.
Franta is the owner of the The Legal Professionals PA, which has its principal office in New Ulm and additional offices in Winthrop and Hutchinson.
Hauser and Schmid have been practicing law together as Hauser and Schmid PLLP since Nov. 15, 1976, in Sleepy Eye.
Errol E "Nip" Hauser graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School, Mankato State College and the University of Minnesota Law School. He is a past president of the Ninth District Bar Association. He has served as the Sleepy Eye City Attorney since 1979.
Schmid is a native of Sleepy Eye, a 1963 graduate of Sleepy Eye St. Mary's, a 1967 graduate of the College of St. Thomas and a 1975 gradate of William Mitchell College of Law.
Schmid has been a certified real property law specialist, past president of the Ninth District Bar Association, and past chairman of the District Bar Association Ethics Committee.
Associate attorney Alissa B. Fischer will continue her practice with the firm in Sleepy Eye.
Nicole M. Schmiesing, associate attorney, has recently joined the New Ulm location. She graduated from North Dakota State University in 2005 and William Mitchell College of Law in 2013.
Linda J. Heine, Shari P. Fischer and Nicole M. Schmiesing are associate attorneys with the Legal Professionals PA who work out of the New Ulm office.
Attorneys William D. Sommerness and Brian J. Gillis serve the firm's Hutchinson location.
