SLEEPY EYE - Mary Hoffmann, Sleepy Eye AG Teacher, attended the Minnesota Association of Agricultural Educators (MAAE) Ag. Technology Conference in St. Cloud Jan. 17-184.
Hoffmann was presented with a plaque for being nominated the Region VI Outstanding Ag. Ed. Teacher for 2014. Hoffmann was nominated by her fellow Region VI instructors for this award. Hoffmann will complete the National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Award Form in order to compete for the Minnesota State Winning Ag. Ed. Program.
The Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher Award recognizes leadership in civic, community, agriculture/ agribusiness and professional activities.
Hoffmann was also named the State Winner for the Ideas Unlimited Contest. Hoffmann entered the Sleepy Eye Member of the Month, Summer All-Star, and Teach Ag. Programs under the Program Promotions Category. Next, Hoffmann will compete at the Region III NAAE Conference which will be held in Madison, Wis. in June.
Hoffmann continues to serve MAAE as President Elect of MAAE. At the end of January, Hoffmann will be attending the National Ag. Ed. Summit in Indianapolis, representing the Ag. Teachers of Minnesota. In July, she will be installed as President of the Minnesota Association of Agricultural Educators.
Kelsey Brandt, Ag. Teacher and Assistant Sleepy Eye FFA Advisor, also attended the Ag. Tech. Conference as an Ag. Educator and member of the Teacher Induction Program (TIP).
