Groehler, Elroy, 79, of Schofield, passed away peacefully at home with family surrounding him on March 30, 2014.
He was born to Raymond and Rose (Becke) Groehler on June 18, 1934 in Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Delmar Groehler, and 5 brother-in-laws, Tom Hurd, Dale Rosenthal, Harvey Boettcher, Loren Fenske and Dwayne Fenske, one daughter Monica May Groehler.
He is survived by his wife Eunice; one son Kevin Groehler; one daughter Melanie Groehler; one grandchild Kayla Groehler; 2 sisters , Margaret Rosenthal, Dorothy Boettcher and 4 sister-in-laws, Alice Groehler, Eileen Hurd, Carol (George) Paur and Margie Jurgens, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Elroy was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling and bowling. His favorite pasttime was spending time with his loving family. He was a wonderful husband and father.
Services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schofield on Wednesday, April 2, with a visitation starting at 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Pastor Jeffrey Mahnke will be officiating.
Winthrop, Minn., service to be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at Zion Lutheran Church, Visitation is one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow at Winthrop Cemetery with VFW military honors.
