To the editor:
May is a time to recognize foster care and child care providers, as well as recognize the role each of us play in the lives of children and youth.
May is recognized across the country as National Foster Care Month. This provides a terrific opportunity to celebrate all the foster families in Brown County who provide safe, stable, supportive homes for children and youth. Our foster families are committed to seeing children grow and be successful. If you know a foster parent, please take the time to thank them for their dedication to our youth and community. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please contact Brown County for more information.
Friday, May 9th is also Provider Appreciation Day. This is a special day to recognize child care providers, teacher and educators of young children everywhere. When you are looking for child care, you want the best care you can find. You look for a safe, loving program where your child will feel happy and secure. Your provider is the person you trust with your child's health, safety and overall well-being when you are not there. It takes a special person to work in this field and the contributions these individuals make to the quality of children's and families' lives too frequently goes unnoticed. Please take the time to recognize your provider for the commitment and compassion they demonstrate every day.
Brown County is fortunate to have such outstanding foster care and child care providers. Again thank you for the important job you do!
