To the editor:
On behalf of Artstone shareholders, the Board of Directors and American Artstone employees, I would like to express my gratitude for all of those in the community who helped us celebrate the company's 100th Anniversary. As I have stated several times, American Artstone may not be celebrating its 100th Anniversary were it not for the unmatched support it has received from the community throughout its history. I would also like to thank all who volunteered their time and efforts or contributed financially. While a person never knows what to expect when planning such an event, it should not have been surprising as to the size of the turnout and the enthusiasm.
We also appreciate the people who took the tours of the plant. We are always proud to show off the artisan skills of the employees who have made American Artstone what it is today. I hope the participants learned as much about American Artstone as I did from the various guests who shared there anecdotes about the company.
I also hope that those who attended enjoyed the presentation of the first 100 years of the company. I know that I learned several things about George Saffert and the company he founded in 1914 just helping to put the presentation together.
The company looks forward to the next 100 years and enjoying the continued support that it has enjoyed during the first 100 years.
