When It Strikes Gravel.
——–
Mrs. Harry Beyer and her one year old daughter were participants in an accident Friday in which they sustained minor injuries and severe nervous shock. Mrs. Beyer was driving in a Ford Coupe along the Sleepy Eye road, when the car struck loose gravel and turned over several times landing in the ditch at the side of the road. J. R. Higgs coming along the road saw the car and helped Mrs.Beyer out and took them to the Loretto Hospital where she is receiving treatment. The child was able to be ta ken to its home last week.
Going to Visit Parents.
Mrs. Beyer had left New Ulm about two o’clock Friday afternoon, intending to drive to Morgan to spend a few days visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Kronfuss. When she was about six miles from this city the car struck loose gravel and Mrs. Beyer lost control of the machine which headed for the ditch.
The car was lying on its side when found by Mr. Higgs who was attracted to the disaster by the sound of the horn. Mrs. Beyer had fallen forward on the horn with the result that it sounded the warning. Several cars had passed the scene of the accident but did not stop to offer any aid.
Mr. Higgs took the injured woman and child to the Loretto Hospital where they were examined and found only minor cuts and bruises, caused from the splintered glass of the coupe doors doors and windshield. The little daughter suffered a cut on the head and the hand. It was but a minor injury and she is recovering nicely. Mrs.Beyer is still în the hospital but will be able to leave in a short
time.
