NEW ULM TRAPPERS PAY BIG FINES
Shipping muskrat furs by parcel post to a mail order house in St. Louis proved to be the undoing of two young men of New Ulm the past week. Herman Klotz and Ralph Simmet were arrested by Game Warden Martin Hahn and were hailed into justice court for taking rats out of season. The former paid $16.50 and the later $15.50, including fines and costs before Justice Fred Pfaender. These two men were among 100 violators traced through the mails to the St. Louis firm from Minnesota. Many others paid a fine for a similar offense. The muskrat season does not open until spring.
