On April 14th, 13 Sleepy Eye Future Farmers of America (FFA) members traveled to Westbrook, Minnesota for the Region VI FFA Awards Banquet.

Numerous members were recognized for their excellence, and Lucia Martinez Paredes and Alex Confer were officially inducted into the 2025-26 Region Officer Team as Reporter and Student Advisor respectively.

The Region VI Proficiency winners this year from Sleepy Eye included: Logan Ludewig (Ag. Mechanics Repair & Maintenance), Rachel Portner (Dairy Production Placement), Jasmine Petermann (Diversified Ag. Production Placement), Taylor Berkner (Vegetable Production).

In Career Development Events, the Best Informed Greenhand Team of Ava Sellner, Camryn Maher, Kenley Jensen, Millie Lax & JP Montemayor earned first in the Region with Ava Sellner being the first place individual.

The Dairy Cattle Evaluation team of Rachel Portner, Jared Portner, Lucia Martinez Paredes, and Charlie Hoffmann took first place in the Region with Rachel Portner being the first place individual.

The Soils Team team of Wyatt Feucht, Oliver Trebesch, Ethan Feucht, and Carson Sellner earned first place in the Region with Wyatt Feucht being the first place individual in the contest.

For Leadership Development Events, the following Sleepy Eye members earned first place in their contests: Taylor Berkner – Employment Skills and Camryn Maher – Creed.

The Sleepy Eye FFA members will next attend State FFA Convention at the end of April to compete and earn their State Degrees and other individual and Chapter awards.
