Nicollet Sheriff’s Department located the body of John Huelskamp, 85, from Lafayette Township Wednesday morning.

Huelskamp was reported missing at 5:27 p.m. Tuesday a farm site in Lafayette Township, north of New Ulm. According to the report, Huelskamp went outside to work with his cattle and had not been seen for an unknown amount of time. Nicollet County Deputies began searching the area for Huelskamp along with New Ulm Police Department K9 unit, Minnesota State Patrol-Air Unit, Sibley County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit, and New Ulm Fire Department. Agencies searched until shortly after midnight and were unsuccessful in locating Huelskamp. The search resumed Wednesday morning and Huelskamp was located deceased on the property. An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.
