NOTICE OF HEARING

ON ASSESSMENTS

FOR PUBLIC

IMPROVEMENTS

FOR THE 2024

COLLIN DRIVE

IMPROVEMENT

PROJECT

Notice is hereby given

that the City Council of

the City of Courtland,

Minnesota will meet at

City Hall located at 329

Main Street in Court-

land on Thursday, No-

vember 7, 2024 at 7:00

p.m. to consider objec-

tions to the proposed

assessments for the

public improvements of

the 2024 Collin Drive

Improvement Project,

heretofore ordered by

the City Council.

The proposed assess-

ment roll is on file with

the City Clerk and

open to public inspec-

tion.

The area to be as-

sessed for such im-

provements is as fol-

lows:

1. Properties adjacent

to and having main ac-

cess to 4th Street via

Collin Drive

The total amount pro-

posed to be assessed

is $371,941.53 and is

proposed to be pay-

able in annual install-

ments over a period of

ten (10) years.

Written or oral objec-

tions will be considered

at the hearing.

An owner of property to

be assessed may ap-

peal the assessment to

the district court of

Nicollet County pur-

suant to Minnesota

Statues, Section

429.081 by serving no-

tice of the appeal upon

the Mayor or City Clerk

of the City within 30

days after the adoption

of the assessment and

filing of such notice

with the district court

within ten days after

service upon the Mayor

and Clerk.

No appeal may be tak-

en as to the amount of

any assessment adopt-

ed by the City Council

unless a written objec-

tion signed by the af-

fected property owner

is filed with the City

Clerk prior to the as-

sessment hearing and

presented to the

presiding officer at the

hearing. All objections

to the assessments not

received at the assess-

ment hearing in the

manner prescribed by

Minnesota Statutes,

Section 429.061 are

waived, unless the

failure to object to the

assessment hearing is

due to a reasonable

cause.

Under the provisions of

Minnesota Statues,

Section 435.193 to

435.195, the City may,

at its discretion, defer

the payment of assess-

ments for any home-

stead property owner

by a person 65 years

of age or older for

whom it would be a

hardship to make the

payments.

The notice of this hear-

ing mailed to property

owners contains addi-

tional information.
