City Center Apartments developer opens sales office
NEW ULM — The President of Minnesota Strasse LLC Jim Kretsch, the developer of the planned City Center Apartments, announced the opening of a sales office.
The office will be in room 211 of The Grand Center for Arts and Culture (210 N. Minnesota St.).
The office will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Elevator access to the second floor and handicap parking is available at the alley entrance.
Operations Director Bonnie Ubl will be available to answer potential renters’ questions and provide rental applications and deposit agreement forms.
Apartment units and parking spaces will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.
The planned downtown, three-story apartment building will be located on Minnesota Street, between South First Street and South Second Street.
City Center is an age restricted (55 plus) independent-living, market-rate community for active adults. It consists of 37 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.
The project is unique in its proximity to the downtown business area, government offices, churches, medical offices and entertainment. It will intends to convert an unused site to a residential community.
The new building designed by Mohangen & Hansen Architectural Group compliments the existing architecture of the historic district and at the same time has a unique design expression of its own.
The varied cladding conditions, including brick finishes, create a residential scale to the multistory building. The street frontage is set back to allow for green space between the public sidewalks and the first floor porches.
City Center has below-grade heated parking and storm shelter for residents and additional off-street parking as well.
Other amenities will include raised-bed gardens, a large outdoor deck, fire pit and grilling area, children’s play area, bocce ball and pickle ball courts, walking paths and bike or motorcycle storage.
On the first floor of the building common area amenities include such things as a multipurpose room, kitchen area, conference/private party room, large screen TV, wifi cafe and a comfortable gathering area.
A restroom, mailboxes and a central office and package storage are located off the main lobby.
