NEW ULM — Wednesday was the third day of State Street Theater’s Children’s Theatre Workshop.

The week-long workshop teaches young thespians, ages six to 14, the basics of theater. Wednesday they were taught stage direction and identifying items on stage. The practices are a warmup for their big performance on at 7 p.m. Friday on the State Street main stage.

This year the students will be performing their own variation of “Snow White.” The play will follow the basic plot of the classic fairy tale, but the kids have added their own unique twist. The kids are keeping a tight-lip on how their version of Snow White differs, but they did promise lots of laughter and possible tears for the sensitive audience members.

This year’s theater workshop features a fifty-fitly mix of returning workshop actors and brand new talent. Each actor is expected to play multiple roles on stage.

Starting at $4.38/week.
