New Ulm Police

• Arrested a 30-year-old New Ulm woman on a Carlton County warrant for 2nd-degree drug possession at Smokes Plus, 1704 Westridge Road at 3:42 p.m. July 14. She was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was sent to the Minnesota Department of Corrections (DOC).

• Police were called at 8:56 p.m. July 14 for an uncooperative Brown County Jail inmate. A 21-year-old St. Paul female was placed in a padded cell due to safety concerns. A report was sent to the Minnesota DOC.

• Received a call at 1:37 a.m. July 15 from a citizen upset about a New Ulm Police traffic stop. A 38-year-old New Ulm man appeared to be suffering from deteriorating mental health.

• Received a July 15 report from a 35-year-old New Ulm man who said his debit cards, a Minnesota ID card, and $3 cash were stolen from a group home. Officers learned the reporting individual had warrants from Hennepin, Anoka and St. Louis counties. The man was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail.

• Responded to a domestic assault reported at 3:49 a.m. July 16 on the 1300 block Minnesota St. S. A 44-year-old New Ulm woman said her 36-year-old ex-boyfriend from New Ulm choked her. Officers noticed some injuries to the woman. She did not seek medical attention. Police were not able to find the man. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.

• Received a July 16 report of a vehicle driving on its wheel rims. Officers stopped a vehicle at WalMart and talked with the driver, a 25-year-old Marshall man. He was cited for no insurance, failure to transfer title, expired registration and unsafe tires. A report was sent to Carver County Probation.

• Received a report of a man who appeared to be lost at 8:40 p.m. July 16 at Broadway and 12th St. N. Police found a 29-year-old New Ulm man walking in the street. It was the fifth call for service on the man that day. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Received a tip at 11:57 p.m. July 16 that a 33-year-old St. Paul man with a Ramsey County warrant, was at his girlfriend’s apartment at 300 N. Broadway. After 30 minutes of not coming to the door, the man surrendered and was transported to the Brown County Jail.

• Responded to a 5th St. N. apartment at 8:47 p.m. July 17 where a 29-year-old New Ulm man appeared to be in a mental health crisis. Officers transported the man to Brown County Human Services to see his social worker who later called police and asked that the man be transported to New Ulm Medical Center due to his agitation.
