Minnesota late Monday evening, a layer of snow for Halloween. Temperatures reached a high of 33 degrees Tuesday ensuring many trick or treaters dressed with jackets over their costumes.

At 516 South State Street, Natalie Helget and Steve Forstner were handing out hot coco for those trick or treating. Helget said the original idea was to have a photo booth for families in costume, but when the weather took a turn for the cold, they switched to a hot coco stand. Forstner said they went through over five gallons of coco in the first hour.

NEW ULM – Despite the below freezing temperatures, plenty of ghosts and gobblins were out trick or treating Tuesday evening.
The stretch of State Street from Center to 7th South was filled with families in costume–as well as winter jackets –collecting candy from several elaborataly decorated households.
