Four-vehicle crash injures two drivers
NEW ULM — New Ulm Police responded to a four vehicle incident in which two drivers sustained injuries.
The incident took place at the intersection of 7th North and North Minnesota Street. Two Honda motorcycles, driven by 69-year-olds Melvin Cuka and John Lang of Richmond, were traveling west on 7th North and approaching North Minnesota Street slowly. A 2008 Ford Edge driven by 61-year-old Kevin Fischer of New Ulm drove behind them slowly.
A 2006 Buick Lacrosse driven by 25 year old Cole Owens of New Ulm failed to slow down and rear-ended Fischer at regular speed. Fischer and Owens were both wearing seatbelts. Cuka and Lang were not struck and left the scene uninjured.
Fischer was transported with back injuries and the passenger in his car had possible injuries. Owens had mild chest pain and was not transported to a medical facility. Both cars suffered moderate damage.
