MVL Drama students present murder mystery comedy

NEW ULM — Minnesota Valley Lutheran (MVL) High School Drama students present the murder mystery comedy “A Family Reunion to Die For” Nov. 1-3 at the State Street Theater.

“We chose the play because we thought it would be funny and we had the talent for the show,” said MVL Drama Coach Karyn Clemons.

The production includes squirrel-hunting hillbilly sisters, a former Vegas showgirl with a knack for knitting, a maid with a single-digit IQ, a grouchy cook, bitter journalist and troupe of mimes.

Other features are a hilarious chase scene and surprising plot twists.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 for children and students, $7 for adults.

Cast members are Liz Halvorson as Gretchen Wilcox, Maddie Meitner as Connie Carlson, Paige Berg as Beatrice Googleheimer, Natalie Schumann as Christine Franklin, Henry Manthe as Freddie Franklin, Caleb Moldstad as costumed guest, Savanna Sweely as Lolo Matthews, Karlee Prahl as Carla Jo Michaels, Nora Grace Otto as Rhonda Mae Michaels, Will Kerkow as Neil Camp, Amber Merseth as Molly, Lucy Heins as Minnie, Judah Guenther as Joel March, Macord Lindstrom as Stefan Livingston, Claire Woller as Suzanne Livingston, Sophia Ulrich as Ranchel Shanklin and Levi LaPlant as Robert Shanklin.
