Sharing Christmas cheer
St. Paul students entertain Woodstone residents
NEW ULM – A group of third and fourth graders from St. Paul’s Lutheran School sang carols at Woodstone Senior Living Community Monday afternoon led by their teacher Carol Schoenherr. In addition to singing, Josie Kettner played “Jingle Bells” on the violin, several students played piano pieces, and the students recited some Bible verses.
“They sang so nice,” said resident Char Klocke.
Afterwards, children passed out cards and blessing bags to residents. Blessing bags are made with a collection of items, like a colored picture or candy canes.
“Instead of passing out gifts to each other, the students donate items for the blessing bags. The purpose is to bring Christmas cheer and share God’s love with others.” Schoenherr said.
