MORGAN — On stage for their 36th year, members of the Morgan Community Players present “Real Talk with Fairytale Legends” Feb. 28 and March 1-2 in the Cedar Mountain High School auditorium.
“This play is very family friendly, great for young and old alike. All the fun of just about every TV show genre you can imagine is jam-packed into this wild, fast-paced comedy,” said director/actress Char Carlson.
She said the audience becomes part of the live audience on a talk show where seven dwarves tell the story of Snow White as the Fairytale Players bring it to life.
As each new dwarf tells part of Snow White’s story in their own unique voice, the players’ re-enactment shifts to match the style and personality of that particular dwarf.
The story can be anything–romance, comedy, a home improvement show, suspense, Western, poetry, mystery, a cooking show, stand-up routine, or blockbuster movie. There’s even a beauty pageant.
It all culminates in a mad dash ending of fast-changing genres that set the record straight on Show White’s happily-ever-after and includes fairy tale commercials between scenes.
There are 16 cast members, four of them new–Doug Kopischke, Doug Daub, Lavender Boyles, Char Carlson, Amanda Johnson, Ken Johnson, Kristin Rossow, director Julia Garms, Lowell Krogstad, Becca Krogstad, Alex Hulinsky, Lydia Sullivan and first-timers Dawn Tietz, Michael Poulin, Robin Trebesch, and Lexa Poulin.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28 and Saturday, March 1 and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2. Proceeds go to Morgan area organizations that will benefit from their receipt.
