NEW ULM — Ninety-six bowlers from as far away as the Twin Cities with a variety of experience levels participated in the 22nd Annual Oak Hills Memorial Foundation Bowling Classic at Concordia Lanes Monday.
Sponsorship commitments and contributions were directed at addressing the immediate needs of Oak Hills Living Center residents.
“Our support comes at a pivotal time, as we are in the midst of a full remodel of the nursing home. We are investing back into our nursing home to create a modern, enhanced environment for our residents. Your generosity continues to enrich the lives of those we serve,” Oak Hills Living Center CEO/Administrator Candas Schouvieller said.
“We have a long ways to go in the remodeling project. We’ve completed three of nine project phases. We’ve been enjoying watching it move along. We hope to complete it in the spring of 2026,” she said.
“I want to thank all the community members that came out to support us today. It’s really a great day. We’ve got a full house. We have a lot of community support with lots of donations,” Schouvieller said.
She thanked the dedicated service of people serving on the Oak Hills Operating Board and Oak Hills Foundation Board, local businesses that donated items and local sponsors that donated to the bowling classic.
Schouvallier said the total amount of money raised has not yet been determined but she has hopes of raising $15,000 to $20,000.
The bowling classic began as a fundraising idea that would generate funds through the winter and early spring when people were not in golf tournaments.
