Looks like mild weather for Bockfest

Saturday high forecast near 50 degrees

NEW ULM — Thousands are expected to celebrate Bockfest and the changing seasons with a forecast high near 50s Saturday.

The forecast is similar to last year’s Bockfest when the afternoon temperature reached the mid 60s.

August Schell Brewing Co. President/CEO Kyle Marti said a couple new musical wrinkles are part of the 2025 Bockfest.

The Bockfest Boys will begin playing at 11 a.m., Saturday. The brewery gates open at 10:30 a.m. for online advanced ticket holders. General public/day of sales begin at 11 a.m.

Christa Bohlmann and the Blue Ringers will perform pop, rock and country music from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the big Bockfest stage in the lower parking lot.

In the woods, the Strudel Boy disc jockey will play music from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Gates close at 5 p.m.

Marti said Schell’s new juicy lager, Notorious PILS will be available on tap at Bockfest.

“It’s a little more hop forward with citrus, guava, peach and other tropical notes,” said Marti.

He said shuttle buses will be available from the brewery to the Best Western Plus and downtown New Ulm.

“We encourage people to get a ride and take care of themselves,” Marti said.

Identification is required for the 21 plus Bockfest. Admission is $10. No pets or outside chairs are allowed on the fest grounds. No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the gates. Backpacks will be searched. It is illegal to drink on the streets of New Ulm.

Some activies are set for Friday.

Saturday is International Women’s Day but “Doe, a Beer,” a lager with light maltiness and medium hops, will be released, 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Schell’s Bierhalle.

Christa Bohlmann will perform 6-9 p.m. Friday at Black Frost Distilling, 201 1st St. North.

A Bockfest After Party with the Fat City All Stars and IV Play band begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Royal Oak Event Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

The New Ulm American Legion Club hosts must by REVLINE, 6-9 p.m. Saturday. Food will be served 5-7 p.m.
