Shop the Lot set for May 17

NEW ULM — Misfit Crafters, a small but fun group of crafters and vendors who come together once a month concluded indoor shows Saturday with the Shop-n-Hop Craft Show at the Best Western Plus Conference Center.

Outdoor shows begin 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17 with Shop the Lot 1 Military Appreciation honored U.S. armed forces members in New Ulm City Parking Lot 1 near City Hall.

“Actually, we’re just beginning our outdoor season that will continue on Saturdays September. In October, we’re be in the street for Octoberfest,” said Norwex Independent Sales Consultant Ann Winkler of Elysian.

She said Norwex products work wonders filtering water, cleaning toilet tanks, dishwashers and top-loading washing machines.

“Norwex has been amazing, a life-saver for me. I’m very sensitive to smells and not having chemicals in my home. It does enzyme-based cleaning, breaking down organics,” said Winkler.

She retired from the U.S. Army in Tampa and moved back to Minnesota to be with family in the Mankato and Twin Cities.

Patty McNeese of Madison Lake was selling Mary Kay skincare, color cosmetics and signature fragrance products.

A Florida native, she is retired state employee and U.S. Navy retiree, she teaches adult education and English as a second language in Faribault.

“I grew up in Florida, but my daughter and grandchildren are here so I am too,” she said.
