Willkommen committee welcomes NUBRIC President
NEW ULM – The Willkommen Committee recently visited with NUBRIC (New Ulm Business and Resource Innovation Center) to welcome their new CEO Steve Brown.
Brown is new to New Ulm. He is originally from Hawaii and lived for many years in Reno. He heard about this position from Mojra Hauenstein, a colleague from Reno who moved to New Ulm a few years ago when she and her husband purchased the Old Hauenstein Brewery.
Hauenstein asked Brown, who has a background as a developer, to help with the remodel of the brewery. Through Hauenstein and his time in New Ulm, Brown learned about NUBRIC and all of the innovative things they are doing and was excited about the opportunity to be the new CEO.
After a long career where he helped to develop many different businesses, and at one time owned around 700 restaurants, Brown was ready for a change. He has been in the role for a few months, currently commuting from Reno, but looking to move permanently. Brown shared that he is really enjoying his new role and supporting NUBRIC’s goal of building, growing, and sustaining New Ulm’s economy.
