Park & Rec Report

• Basketball Tournament in Vogel Fieldhouse on Saturdays Feb. 15. During this time, the Fieldhouse will be closed. The rest of the Rec Center; Fitness Center, Playground and Aquatic Center are open regular hours.

•President’s Day Open Swim from 1-4 p.m. Enjoy the rest of the Rec Center from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

•New Ulm Health Quest is an opportunity to improve fitness. The program focuses on overall health and wellness with structure goals and objectives. Participants earn points by attending fitness events, classes, working out at the Rec Center, weight loss and completing challenges along the way. Participants may join alone or work in teams of 2 to 4 to help with accountability. Register online at newulmmn.gov or at the Rec Center.

•Register now for the Spring Garage Sale scheduled for Saturday April 5 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. at the New Ulm Civic Center. One spot includes three 8-ft tables. Cost is $30 resident and $33 non-residents. Please register in person at the Rec Center at 122 S. Garden St., New Ulm. $35 Rec Center members or $70 non members.

•Private Pickleball Lessons are available at the Rec Center. Register on the pickleball waitlist at newulmmn.gov or in person at the Rec Center. The instructor will reach out to assess goals and schedule the lessons.

•Harman Park Skating Rinks and warming house are for the season.

•Tot Swim is offered Wednesdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Zero depth area only and children must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Admission is $3 per child. 12-Punch card available for $27

•Tot Gym is offered Monday and Fridays from 9:30-11 a.m.

•Open Broomball (non-checking) is offered Wednesday nights at the Civic Center from 7:30-9:00 p.m.

• Red Cross Lifeguard Training is offered throughout the year, based on participant interest/schedule. Contact Aquatics and Fitness Coordinator bend@newulmmn.gov to get on the list. The next class will be held March 1 and 2.

•Youth Pottery classes are available February, March and April! Register online at newulmmn.gov

• Winter-Spring Registration is open online. For a full listing of available activities go to New Ulm’s Park and Rec website and click on Registration, then activity registration; Winter-Spring brochure. Registration must be done online or in person at the Rec Center.
