NEW ULM – New Ulm High School’s Knowledge Bowl teams had a strong showing in the Region 9AAA Tournament on Tuesday, March 4 in Mankato.

Thirty-four teams from New Ulm, Mankato East, Mankato West, Owatonna, Fairmont, St. Peter, TCU, and Jordan competed for the top two spots hoping to advance to the State Meet. New Ulm High School placed five teams in the top twelve of the Region Meet. New Ulm Purple placed 1st defending their region championship from last year and advancing to the state tournament. Owatonna Black placed second punching their ticket to state narrowly, beating out New Ulm Ivory, who placed third. The KB State Tournament will be held at Cragun’s Resort in Brainard on April 10th and 11th.
