February’s Outstanding FFA Members of the Month
Sleepy Eye Future Farmer’s of America (FFA) recognized the four outstanding members for February, Anna Johnson, Logan Ludewig, Noah Christensen and Megan Sellner.
Anna Johnson is a senior at Sleepy Eye Public and has been involved in FFA for six years. Johnson joined FFA because she is interested in the State FFA Band. She is the Chapter Officer Team Historian this year and enjoys making posters with all of the pictures taken during events. Johnson is on the Companion Animals Career Development Event (CDE) team. She enjoys animals and it is always changing to learn new things. Johnson’s Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) is at Divine where she works with food safety and cleaning dishes. Since joining FFA and Ag. classes, Johnson has learned a lot about communication. She is most looking forward to participating in her State CDE contest this year because her favorite activity is State Convention. The achievement Johnson is most proud of is earning 7th place overall out of 212 individuals in the National Quiz Bowl Contest.
Logan Ludewig is an eleventh grader this year and has been in FFA for three years. Ludewig joined FFA because he wanted to learn new things and try new experiences. Logan’s SAE involves his work at Schroepfer Inc. where he works on semi’s and trailers. His favorite FFA activity is State Convention. While being in Ag Classes, Ludewig learned how to weld. He is looking forward to going to State for his Proficiency Award Application of Ag. Mechanics Repair & Maintenance. Ludewig is most proud winning State for the Poultry CDE and earning silver at Nationals.
Noah Christensen is a senior this year at St. Mary’s and has been in FFA for two years. He joined FFA because a friend encouraged him to try it. Christensen is a member of the Fish & Wildlife CDE Team and enjoys learning about things he can use for the rest of his life. Christensen’s SAE Project is working in a pig barn for Schwartz Farms that is wean to finish. Timberland Camp was his favorite FFA activity. While being in Ag Class & FFA, Christensen has learned to put in the work and it will pay off in the future. He is looking forward to attending the State FFA Convention in April. The award Christensen is most proud of is earning his State FFA Degree this year and qualifying for State as an individual for Fish & Wildlife.
Megan Sellner is a tenth grader this year and has been in FFA for four years. She joined FFA to participate in fun activities like the CDE Teams. Sellner is a member of the Milk Quality & Products CDE Team because she loves cheese, going to state, and her teammates are really fun. The State FFA Convention and Timberland Camp are her favorite activities. While being in Ag Class & FFA, Sellner has learned about teamwork as well as independence. She is looking forward to attending the State FFA Convention in April. The awards Megan is most proud of include: being on the Gold FFA Honor Roll, earning the Freshmen Leadership Award, and being the 2nd Place Individual at State last year in the Milk Quality Event.
