Bethany Theatre presents Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’
MANKATO – The Bethany Theatre Department will present ‘As You Like It’ by William Shakespeare
7:30 p.m. April 4 and April 5; 2 p.m. April 6; 7:30 p.m. April 11 and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on April 12.
The comedy is directed by Emily Kimball and follows the journey of Rosalind, who, along with her cousin Celia, flees to the Forest of Arden after being banished from court. Disguised as a young man named Ganymede, Rosalind encounters exiled lords, shepherds, fools and her love interest, Orlando, who is also seeking refuge.
Amidst rustic charm and some of Shakespeare’s most memorable lines, love blossoms in unexpected ways, identities are hilariously mistaken, and witty banter flows freely as all who seek love discover contentment. The theater-in-the-round style seating will heighten the experience of being in this Green World of Arden with the characters.
