SW Minnesota Men’s Chorus dinner show April 14
The Southwest Minnesota Men’s Chorus is coming back to Springfield. The group will be doing their annual spring dinner show Monday, April 14 at the Springfield Area Community Center. The shows begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets for the show will be $30 per person which includes the show and dinner served by the chorus members. Only advance tickets will be sold and will be available at the Springfield Advance-Press (507-723-4225), the F&M Bank (507-723-4800) or from chorus members beginning March 28. No tickets will be sold at the door.
The chorus, formerly known as the Marshall Area Men’s Chorus, is made up of singers from various communities in southwest Minnesota. They rehearse weekly in Walnut Grove.
Area residents in the chorus are Charlie Tews, Gary Renner and Jeff Krueger from Springfield, Jim Gode from Sanborn, Craig Steffen from Lamberton and Nathan Hesse from Comfrey. Wendy Johnson is the group’s director. Kirsti Malmberg is accompanist. Instrumentalist will be Glen Anderson.
Musical selections for the April 14 concert will take you “down the music highway” and include This Magic Moment by Mac Huff, I’ve Been Everywhere by Jay Althouse, Ain’t Got Time to Die by John Purifoy, This Old Hammer by Walter Ehret and Seven Bridges Road by Kirby Shaw. Small groups will also perform some selections
