Stations of the Cross to be led by Bishop Zielinski on Good Friday

NEW ULM – On Good Friday, April 18 (weather permitting), at 3 p.m. at the Way of the Cross shrine in New Ulm, the Most Rev. Chad W. Zielinski, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of New Ulm, will lead a public prayer and meditation on the fourteen Stations of the Cross.

This historic shrine of the diocese dates back to 1904, features 14 stations with Bavarian statues and a grotto lined along a cobblestone path leading to the Sorrowful Mother of Jesus chapel. With its rich history and cultural significance, the shrine was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2020.

The area Knights of Columbus will staff the Way of the Cross from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Good Friday afternoon.
