The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently visited Black Frost Distilling to celebrate its grand opening and welcome the business as a new chamber member.

Black Frost is operating out of the former New Ulm Wholesale building at 201 1st North St.

Co-owners Jace Marti and Nate Gieseke started the distillery with the idea of creating whiskey produced specifically from ingredients within a 15-mile radius of New Ulm.

The whiskey is distilled and aged on site. Whiskey needs to age for at least two years before it is ready. Until then, the distillery is sourcing products and offer a full-service bar with specialty cocktails featuring fresh, local ingredients.

Black Frost also plans to produce rum, which doesn’t need to age and can be served quicker.

The cocktail lounge is open Fridays from 4-10 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m.-4.p.m.

Starting at $4.38/week.
