Minnesota State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Interstate 90, Faribault County, at 9:40 a.m. June 29. James D. Ratcliffe, 68, Truman, was driving a 2005 International 9400 pulling a Tempte trailer eastbound when he rear-ended a 2020 Western Star conventional Minnesota state snowplow truck driven by Nathaniel J. Lamont, 50, Truman, in the right lane. Ratcliffe was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, with life-threatening injuries. Lamont was transported to Blue Earth Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. Blue Earth Police, Fire and Ambulance, Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Air Ambulance and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted.

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash with injuries on TH 22 at Airport Road, Hassan Valley Township, McLeod County at 4:42 p.m. July 6. Cole D. Novack, 22, Glencoe was northbound driving a 2012 Yamaha XVS 1300 when he lost control and crashed. He wore a helmet and was transported to Hutchinson Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Hutchinson Police assisted.

Sleepy Eye Police

• Stopped a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Sleepy Eye male for dark window tint at 16th North Street at 7:35 p.m. July 6. The male was cited for windows found to be in violation in addition to illegal fireworks possession, driving while license suspended and equipment violations. A report was done for documentation.
