New Ulm Police
• Responded at 5:08 p.m. Friday on Crestview Dr. to a report of a 42-year-old New Ulm man suffering from a mental health situation. Police talked him into going to the New Ulm Medical Center. A report went to Brown County Human Services.
• Took a Walmart theft report at 1:48 p.m. Saturday of a 23-year-old St. James woman pushing a cart out of the store without paying for 22 items totalling $355.50 Aug. 13. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for theft charge consideration.
• Took a Walmart theft report at 1:48 p.m. Saturday of a 37-year-old Belle Plaine man skip scanning $36.58 worth of items July 15 and Sept. 3. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.
• Took a report of a man trying to break into a home at 11:38 p.m. Saturday on Franklin St. S. Police found a suspect, a 52-year-old New Ulm man nearby. He said he was just trying to talk to his girlfriend, a 44-year-old New Ulm woman. She was not interested in seeking charges. A report went to Brown County Probation.
• Took a theft report at 11:19 a.m. Sunday of a bike stolen in the last two days fron the front yard. The bike was a woman’s giant Liv Flourish with water bottle holder and handlebar bell valued at $100. A report was done for documentation.
• Took a report Monday of someone entering a storage unit and rummaging through boxes on 16th South. The last time the renter was in the unit was spring 2024. The lock was still intact. It is believed a suspect entered through another unit and crawled through a ceiling. A report was done for documentation.
