New Ulm Police
• Responded to a one-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 7th North and German Street at 3:06 p.m. Nov. 15. Richard John Johnson, 77, New Ulm, was driving a 2008 Jeep Liberty pulling a trailer southbound on German Street, stopped at 7th North. Johnson turned right to go west, the trailer detached, struck the Jeep, causing it to hit the median. Vehicle damage was moderate disabling. Johnson wore a seat belt.
• Stopped a vehicle for speeding at 10:47 p.m. Thursday. Officers noticed a marijuana odor coming from the vehicle. The driver, a 37-year-old Lake Crystal man admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. A plastic bag with several “buds,” a grinder, THC electronic delivery device and a glass pipe were removed rom the vehicle. The man was cited for open cannabis package possession in a motor vehicle. A report was done for documentation.
• Took a report at 5:07 p.m. Thursday of an intoxicated man inside the south end Kwik Trip. Police located a 31-year-old homeless man holding a whiskey bottle. He was uncooperative and transported to detox. A report was done for documentation.
