New Ulm Police
* Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 5th Street N. and Garden Street at 6:50 p.m. Friday. A 2017 GMC Acadia driven northbound on Garden St. by Jessica Ann Brush, 31, New Ulm, proceeded through the 5th St. N. intersection, struck a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox in the intersection that was driven eastbound on 5th St. N. by Samantha Mare Lodes, 38, New Ulm. Damage was severe to both vehicles. Injuries were minor to Brush and a passenger in the Chevrolet.
* Responded to a crash at 6:53 a.m. Thursday at 2nd North Street and Broadway. An unknown vehicle broke a do not enter sign. Vehicle debris indicated minor front end damage.
* Took a report Nov. 26 from a 48-year-old woman who said she was missing $240 from her purse that she did not take out of the apartment recently. The woman said she steps outside to smoke at times and left her apartment open. A report was done for documentation.
* Talked with a Brown County Humane Society representative at 12:34 p.m. Saturday who said a man came to the shelter claiming to have found two dogs in rural Brown County and wanted to turn them in. After the man left, the human society learned of a microchip in one of the dogs that was associated with a North Mankato owner. Viewing the man on social media, the human society rep. said it was the same man who claimed to have found the dogs. The man was contacted and admitted to using a false name when turning over the dogs and avoiding a surrender fee. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration of theft and mistreatment of animal charges.
* Took a report at 7:04 p.m Saturday of a 39-year-old New Ulm man skip scanning at the Walmart self checkout five times from Sept. 23 to Nov. 2. Total value of the incidents was $261.62. The suspect was cited for theft. A report was done for documentation.
Brown County Sheriff’s Office
* Stopped a vehicle for speeding at CR 25/CR 13 for speeding at 6:09 p.m. Sunday. A 40-year-old New Ulm man was arrested on a Brown County warrant for failure to appear in court and transported to the Brown County Jail.
