New Ulm Police
• Took a report of fight outside of Smiley’s Tavern. Wednesday. Officers spoke with a 30-year-old New Ulm man who stated he was outside when a male and female asked him for a ride. When he declined, the male assaulted him. Officer located the male and female about a block away. The male, 55 years old from Arlington and the female, 54 years old from Albert Lea, stated that the New Ulm male was the aggressor. No one appeared to be injured, and no one involved wanted charges pressed. A report went to Freeborn County Probation and Minnesota Department of Corrections Probation.
• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 12:31 a.m. Wednesday. The driver, a 26-year-old Gibbon man, admitted he did not have insurance or a valid drivers license. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s office for review of no insurance and driving after revocation.
• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 10:05 p.m. Tuesday. Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A K9 conducted a vehicle search. Five individually wrapped bags of marijuana were found in the vehicle. A citation was issued to a 19 year old New Ulm man for underage possession of cannabis, and an open package in a motor vehicle. A report went to Brown County Probation.
