New Ulm Police

• Took a dog bite report involving a 77-year-old New Ulm woman on the 900 block, Minnesota Street North at 10:27 a.m. Wednesday. The woman said she bitten on the left arm and leg but skin was not broken. The dog’s owner, a 51-year-old New Ulm man said the dog must have escaped from a kennel. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a call from an Alabama woman at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday who was concerned about threats of violence on Facebook towards Brown County officials from a 43-year-old Mankato man. Police contacted the man’s probation agent and the Mankato Department of Public Safety. Reports went to Brown County Probation and the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Police K9 assisted Gaylord Police at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday with the arrest of a 61-year-old Gaylord man on a warrant on Lincoln Ave. A report went to Gaylord Police.

• Took a skip-scanning report from Walmart at 7:13 p.m. Wednesday. A 39-year-old New Ulm woman did not scan all her self-checkout items. Total amount of the theft was $58.52. The woman was cited for theft. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Received two driving complaints at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday of a vehicle coming into New Ulm on Highway 14. Officers noticed poor driving conduct and stopped the vehicle. Police noticed impairment signs from the driver, a 44-year-old New Ulm woman, arrested her and transported her to the Brown County Jail, then the Brown County Evaluation Center, detox. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of first-degree DWI.

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 11:17 p.m. Wednesday. Officers noticed impairment signs from the driver, a 26-year-old Madelia woman. She was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for consideration of third-degree DWI, driving after revocation and no proof of insurance.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a suspicious activity call on 5th St. West in Hanska at 9:49 a.m. Thursday. A 48-year-old Hanska man with mental health issues was banging on windows and doors and yelling in the middle of the road. No injuiries or damage was reported. A report went to Brown County Human Services.
