New Ulm Police
• Responded to a call about a seven-year-old who rode a school bus back to school at 3:48 p.m. Wednesday because nobody was home. The student’s father later picked up the student at school. A report went to Brown County Human Services.
• Received animal complaints at 5:26 p.m. Wednesday about two loose dogs on the 800 block of Center Street. An officer was bitten by a dog while trying to get them out of an intersection. The officer sought medical attention. A dog owner, a 45-year-old New Ulm woman, was cited for dogs at large.
• Took a call about explosions and smoke from New Ulm Steel & Recycling at 9:46 a.m. Thursday. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Received a theft report from Kwik Trip North at 11:36 a.m. Thursday. Officers are trying to locate a man seen on surveillance video accused to stealing $13.43 worth of merchandise.
• Received a dog bite report at 1:34 p.m. Thursday near 5th St. North and Payne. A 32-year-old Lafayette woman sought medical attention. A report went to animal control.
