New Ulm Police
• Took a skip scanning report from Walmart at 8:25 p.m. Friday. On two separate occasions, a 39-year-old Springfield woman did not scan all her items at the self-checkout, totaling $33.15. A theft citation was mailed to the woman. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Responded to a physical domestic call involving a 28-year-old New Ulm woman and 36-year-old New Ulm man at 7:44 a.m. Saturday at 1100 16th Street North. Witnesses told police the woman was the aggressor. She was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail and cited for domestic assault. Neither person sought medical attention. Reports went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office, the Committee Against Domestic Abuse and Brown County Human Services.
• A Walmart loss prevention specialist called at 10:45 a.m. Saturday about a male in the parking lot accused of stealing 23 items totaling $1,034.65 on Jan. 24. The man returned and was sitting in a vehicle. Police identified the man as a 29-year-old from North Mankato. Police are investigating the case with North Mankato Police.
• Took a skip scanning report from Walmart Sunday. From Dec. 6 to Jan. 31, a 59-year-old Springfield woman did not scan all her self-checkout items totaling $59.78. Multiple attempts to contact the woman were unsuccessful. A theft citation was mailed to her. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Took a report from the Brown County Evaluation Center Sunday of a patient ordering food from McDonald’s via Door Dash. Evaluation center staff inspected the delivery and found a clear, plastic bag with what appeared to be methamphetamine stuck between a burger and a bun. The patient, a 36-year-old Redwood Falls woman admitted she requested illegal drugs be hidden in her order and knew the delivery driver. Police contacted the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office. It appeared the Door Dash driver was a 44-year-old Wabasso man, who knew the Redwood Falls woman. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office and Minnesota Department of Correction Probation.
• Responded to a one-vehicle crash with suspected injury at the Highway 14/North Highland Ave. roundabout at 9:39 p.m. Thursday. Maximillan Louis Renner, 20, Springfield, entered the roundabout on a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle, lost control and tipped on its side. Renner had a suspected left shoulder injury. Motorcycle damage was moderate disabling.
